You’re trying to add multiple videos to one TikTok post but can’t figure out how?!
Or the carousel feature isn’t showing up at all!!
Maybe you can only upload one video at a time, or Photo Mode won’t let you select multiple clips. This is so damn confusing honestly… Other people post carousels and you can’t!! What the fuck am I missing?!
Why Multiple Videos Don’t Work
TikTok requires Photo Mode for multi-video posts – here’s what blocks carousel uploads!!
Common multi-video blockers:
- Photo Mode unavailable – Feature not enabled on your account
- Wrong upload method – Using video camera instead of Photo Mode
- Account restrictions – New accounts don’t have carousel access
- App version outdated – Need latest TikTok update
- Regional limitations – Not available in all countries
- Video format issues – Clips must be photos/short videos
- Length restrictions – Each clip has maximum duration
And let’s figure out how to use Photo Mode carousel properly, I’m not going to lie the interface is confusing…
Use Photo Mode Not Video Mode
Regular video mode ONLY uploads one video – you MUST use Photo Mode for multiple videos!!
How to access Photo Mode: Open TikTok > tap + button (bottom center). Look for Photo option at bottom of screen (next to Camera). Tap Photo to enter Photo Mode.
Photo Mode lets you select multiple photos AND videos from your camera roll. You can mix photos and video clips in same post, bet.
If Photo Mode missing: Update TikTok to latest version. Check if feature available in your region!!
Can’t find Photo Mode option?? Swipe through bottom menu options – it’s sometimes hidden to the right π
Check TikTok’s official Photo Mode guide for more info.
Select Multiple Videos In Photo Mode
Once in Photo Mode, here’s exactly how to add multiple videos to one post!!
Create carousel post: Tap Photo mode. Tap Select (or gallery icon). Choose first video from camera roll. Tap to select additional videos (up to 35 total). Videos show with checkmarks when selected, deadass.
Click Next after selecting all clips. Edit transition effects if wanted. Add music, text, stickers. Click Next > add caption > Post!!
Each video plays in sequence automatically. Viewers swipe to see next clip in carousel, no cap.
Maximum limits: Up to 35 photos/videos per carousel. Each video clip max 60 seconds. Total carousel length varies by selection.

Update TikTok To Latest Version
Outdated app versions don’t have Photo Mode or carousel features – update immediately!!
Update on iPhone: App Store > search TikTok > tap Update if available. Or enable auto-updates in App Store settings.
Update on Android: Play Store > search TikTok > tap Update. Check device has enough storage for update.
After updating, force close TikTok completely and reopen. Photo Mode should now appear in create menu, for real.
If still missing after update: Feature might be rolling out gradually. Clear app cache (Android) or reinstall app (iPhone) π
Account Age And Requirements
Brand new TikTok accounts don’t have Photo Mode access immediately!!
Requirements for Photo Mode: Account age typically 7-14 days minimum. Some posting history required. Good standing (no violations).
If your account is less than 2 weeks old?? Photo Mode might not be available yet. Keep posting regular videos and engaging π
No specific follower requirement: Unlike some features, Photo Mode doesn’t need 1,000 followers. Mainly based on account age and activity, deadass.
Regional Availability Issues
Photo Mode carousel isn’t available in ALL countries – your location affects access!!
Regions with Photo Mode: United States, Canada, UK, most of Europe, Australia, many Asian countries. Generally available in major markets.
Regions without Photo Mode: Some countries don’t have feature yet. TikTok rolling out gradually worldwide. Availability changes over time.
If you meet all requirements but Photo Mode still missing?? Your country might not have the feature. VPN won’t help because TikTok checks account registration location, bet.
Dealing with TikTok creator tools access issues? That’s another feature availability problem…
Video Length Restrictions
Each individual video in carousel has length limits – too long and it won’t work!!
Carousel video limits: Each clip maximum 60 seconds. Can mix different length clips. Shorter clips recommended (15-30 seconds each).
If trying to add video longer than 60 seconds?? Trim it first in your phone’s editor. Or split long video into multiple 60-second clips, for real.
How to trim videos: iPhone: Photos app > Edit > trim slider. Android: Gallery > Edit > trim tool!!

Mix Photos And Videos Together
Photo Mode lets you combine BOTH photos and video clips in same carousel!!
How mixing works: Select photos from camera roll. Select videos from camera roll. Add them in any order. Photos show for 3 seconds each, videos play their full length, highkey cool feature honestly.
This creates dynamic posts with varied content. More engaging than all videos or all photos alone π
Use cases: Before/after transformations (photo > video > photo). Tutorial steps (video > photo > video). Product showcases (photos + demo videos)!!
Why Regular Video Mode Won’t Work
People keep trying to add multiple videos through regular Camera mode – this NEVER works!!
Camera mode limitations: Records or uploads ONE video only. Can’t select multiple files. No carousel capability, deadass.
If you click Camera button and try uploading video?? You can only upload one at a time. Must use Photo Mode specifically for multiple videos, no cap.
Common mistake: Recording in Camera mode then wondering why can’t add more videos. Solution: Use Photo Mode from the start!!
File Format Compatibility
Wrong video formats cause selection issues in Photo Mode!!
Supported formats: MP4 (best compatibility), MOV (iPhone videos), JPEG/PNG (photos). Most common formats work fine.
Problem formats: AVI, MKV, HEVC/HEIC sometimes issues. Convert to standard formats first!!
If video won’t select in Photo Mode?? Check file format in your gallery. Convert to MP4 using video converter app, for real.
Having trouble with TikTok video editor glitching? That’s related to format issues…
Wrapping This Up
First thing – you MUST use Photo Mode not regular Camera mode, I’m not playing!! Tap + button > select Photo at bottom > then you can choose multiple videos, bet.
Update TikTok to latest version if Photo Mode is missing. Outdated app versions don’t have carousel features. App Store or Play Store > TikTok > Update, for real.
Each video in carousel must be 60 seconds or less… longer videos need to be trimmed first. Mix photos and videos together for more engaging carousels, no cap.
Your account needs to be at least 1-2 weeks old for Photo Mode access. Brand new accounts don’t have the feature yet. Keep posting and it unlocks automatically.
And remember Photo Mode only works on mobile app, not desktop. You can’t create carousels from computer. Must use TikTok on phone to add multiple videos, lowkey just how it works honestly.
If this guide helped you finally create multi-video carousel posts after trying to figure out Photo Mode, share it with other creators confused about adding multiple videos to TikTok!!
