TikTok Sound Not Syncing With Video. Here’s the Trick!

tiktok video and audio not synced

Nothing kills a TikTok video faster than audio that’s out of sync with the video. Lips moving but sound comes later? Audio ahead of the video? It’s annoying as hell and makes your content look like garbage, not playing.

I’m gonna show you exactly how to fix TikTok sound sync issues in minutes. No complicated tech bullshit, just simple solutions that actually work.

Let’s fix this thing!

Why TikTok Audio Goes Out of Sync

Before we fix it, here’s why this happens:

Your phone’s processing power can’t keep up, the app cache is corrupted, you’re using an old version of TikTok, your phone’s storage is almost full, or the original video file has sync issues 🙁

Now let’s fix each one!

Solution 1: Restart the TikTok App

Sounds stupid simple but it works most of the time. Just force close TikTok and reopen it.

For Android:

1. Tap the Recent apps button (square icon)
2. Swipe TikTok away to close it
3. Reopen TikTok from your app drawer

For iPhone:

1. Swipe up from the bottom (or double-click home button on older iPhones)
2. Swipe TikTok up to close it
3. Reopen TikTok

Try playing your video again. If it’s still out of sync, keep going…

Solution 2: Clear TikTok Cache

Corrupted cache files cause sync problems. Let’s wipe them out!

For Android:

1. Open Settings
2. Tap Apps
3. Find and tap TikTok
4. Tap Storage
5. Tap Clear cache (NOT “Clear data”)

For iPhone:

1. Open TikTok app
2. Tap Profile (bottom right)
3. Tap the three lines (top right)
4. Tap Settings and privacy
5. Tap Free up space
6. Tap Clear next to Cache

This fixes sync issues 80% of the time, I’m not lying to you. Try your video again.

Solution 3: Update TikTok

Old versions have bugs that cause audio sync problems. Make sure you’re running the latest version.

1. Go to Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iPhone)
2. Search for TikTok
3. If there’s an Update button, tap it
4. Wait for it to update
5. Open TikTok and check if sync is fixed

Solution 4: Free Up Phone Storage

When your phone’s storage is almost full, TikTok can’t process videos properly and audio goes out of sync.

Check your storage:

Android: Settings > Storage
iPhone: Settings > General > iPhone Storage

If you’re low on space (under 2GB free), delete some stuff:

• Old videos and photos
• Downloaded files you don’t need
• Apps you never use
• Clear cache from other apps

Once you’ve freed up a few gigs, try creating or watcing the video again 🙂

Solution 5: Reduce Video Quality Settings

High video quality settings can cause sync issues on older phones that can’t handle the procesing.

1. Open TikTok
2. Tap Profile
3. Tap the three lines (top right)
4. Tap Settings and privacy
5. Tap Data Saver
6. Turn on Data Saver mode

This reduces video quality but fixes sync problems on phones that struggle with processing.

Solution 6: Check Your Original Video File

If you’re uploading a video and the audio is out of sync, the problem might be with the original file before you even uploaded it to TikTok.

Test this: Play the video in your phone’s gallery or camera roll. If the audio is already out of sync there, TikTok isn’t the problem – you need to re-record or re-edit the video.

For recordings: Use your phone’s native camera app instead of recording directly in TikTok. Native camera apps handle audio sync better.

Solution 7: Reinstall TikTok (Last Resort)

If nothing else worked, reinstalling TikTok wipes out all the corrupted files and settings.

1. Uninstall TikTok from your phone
2. Go to Play Store or App Store
3. Download TikTok again
4. Log back in
5. Try your video

This is the nuclear option but it fixes stubborn sync issues.

Bottom Line

One of these solutions will fix your TikTok audio sync problem. Most of the time it’s just cache or an app update – takes 30 seconds to fix, you motherfuckers.

If you’re still having sync issues after trying everything, drop a comment and let me know your phone model and what’s happening. I’ll help you figure it out.
