Let’s start with my top 10 best WordPress themes for 2023. A few themes come back from previous years, but there are also a lot of new themes in my selection. These are the absolute best themes, which are all worth their money. Most of these themes also have a popular free version.
Divi Theme
I have Divi on 1 again. The Divi team shows every year that they are the ones who come up with new things. In addition, existing features are always being improved. The theme can do everything, is very easy to understand for any beginner, has many and beautiful demo websites and of course comes with the best page builder out there for free, their own DiviBuilder. Apart from the fact that it is the best theme, it comes with many extra themes and plugins as perks. It offers great value for money, especially when we talk about the lifetime offer.
Astra Theme
The Astra Theme has a huge popularity due to both its free and pro version. Astra is installed on nearly 1.7 million sites. The appreciation that Astra receives everywhere is unprecedented and it is therefore certainly one of the top themes of recent years. Astra in combination with the Elementor page builder is just as good as Divi for me. Astra offers demo websites for no fewer than 4 different page builders, more than any other theme. Astra has also built-in Schema Pro. All in all, Astra should simply not be missed in your theme collection.
Generatepress Theme
Together with Astra, Generatepress is the fastest loading theme there is for WordPress if we do not include 100% minimalist themes. The theme is very well appreciated by its users and has a lot of demo websites that can be edited with different page builders. Again just like Astra, the theme already has Schema MarkUp built in (of course there are better versions of Schema). All in all, this is one of the best themes for 2023 and is therefore high in the rankings.
Neve Theme
Yet another topper, the Neve Theme. Installed on more than a million websites with a fantastic rating, Neve is of course always a candidate for the top 5. The theme is compatible with all elite page builders but feels best with Elementor in my opinion. Neve offers ready-made demo website for no less than 6 different page builders. That is unique and no other theme offers this. Neve is also very fast charging and reasonable in price. In short, an elite theme!
OceanWP Theme
OceanWP has been around for a long time and was developed to load quickly and to build beautiful webshops with it. In the meantime, the theme has grown into a real hit and appears in all rankings, for blogs, portfolio and so on. The Theme has been installed on more than 700,000 sites and is indeed lightning fast. If we add the beautiful rating and beautiful demo website, we have again one of the best themes out there for WP.
Botiga Theme
Botiga is a new theme from aThemes, specially designed for the construction of professional webshops. The theme has already become a success in a short time with more than 10,000 active installations and a great rating. A lot of demos still need to be added to compete with the real top, but the demos that Botiga offers are very nice. The theme certainly has a good future and its builders only make good themes. Botiga is recommended.
Kadence Theme
It does not stop with themes with beautiful rating figures, Kadence is another one, but this is also a top 10 for that of course. The theme has already been installed on more than 100,000 websites and produces very fast loading times. Even though Kadence is compatible with all known page builders, the theme feels best in combination with Elementor or Gutenberg. This theme is recommended for people who want to use something different than what I have listed here in the top 3.
Avada Theme
Avada, in their own words, the theme is the best and most sold there is, but I have worked with it and promote it that does not generate too much revenue, which indicates to me that the numbers are being messed with. In itself a great theme and that is why I have it in the top 10 here. However, the theme has a big problem and that is its price. All themes above can be used on almost as many sites as you want or at least on 3 sites. However, Avada requires an additional license for each site you have. This means that the theme offers little value for money compared to other themes.
Flatsome Theme
After Avada, Flatsome is the number 2 best-selling themes on the infamous Themeforest marketplace almost every week. The Flatsome themes is a multipurpose theme which has E-commerce as its specialism. In other words, you can build beautiful shops with it. The demo websites for shop look great and the many features for shops also catch the eye. Other positives are the loading speed and header options which are fine.
Hello Theme
The Hello theme, also called Hello Elementor theme, is, as its name suggests, the standard theme to use together with the Elementor page builder. The theme is no more than a blank canvas and is therefore faster than all other themes in this top 10, but it is not a real theme. This is very good for pros to use, but for beginners it is recommended to install a demo website. This makes Hello a great theme without really being able to do anything and I wanted to end this review for best themes 2022 with it.
